Media keys for android app

Hey, I'm currently in the process of making an android app that communicates with a server program on my windows desktop.

It would be nice if I could include a set of media keys on the app that controls the default media player on the desktop.

AutoHotKey has the ability to let you hotkey to different media commands such as: Media_Play_Pause, which does exactly what I want. 

Is there an easy way to invoke these kind of commands using java? How does AutoHotKey do it?

Found out a little more. The java Robot class sounded like it was the solution, but it does not support media keys :( .

So I think the solution would be to call a C function from java or create my own media player...
