I could be wrong. Microsoft has been giving away Windows 10 for free. Everbody seems to be grabbing it.
They hope to have 1 billion users. Microsoft will no longer be
producing any more OS's, nstead we will have "updates". Yes, sometimes
they say auto-updates can be turned off, but then later they can be turned
on. They are a monopoly. MS can do whatever they want. Maybe Mozilla
FF will make a better FF and MS will find a severe security flaw with it and will be
forced to suspend FF via one of their "updates" (for our own good (or MS;s bottom line)).  Perhaps a year
later, Google Chrome will also incur a security risk and MS will be forced to
protect us with another "update". Perhaps in time, all non MS windows
programs will be disabled, including AHK. I well remember my
favourite progam, Wordperfect.
Of course I could be wrong.

Hello Xtra. No, I do not have any source links.

But I have read on the internet that Google and Yahoo search engines generate billions of dollars for  their owners.  Some users must be using a Microsoft Windows program for searches.  I also read Microsoft has been trying to muscle in, using Bing etc, but have not acheived great success. How wonderful would it be for if MS if they could encourage you to use Edge.

Previous to Windows 10, if you paid owned a MS windows program, it was yours.  You could download and run any 3rd party program you liked on your PC.  Now with this free Win10, MS can tinker with their Win10 on your PC at any time.  If they determine a non-windows, 3rd party program could cause instability, it can be cured.  Maybe Edge will have an edge.

But I could be wrong, or "Paranoia".

Give a try to FreeBSD ;)

After Windows 10 spying features and back porting of that to Windows 7, 8, 8.1 I began seriously watching at unix systems.

Hi

Give a read to :

http://www.pcworld.c...-abandoned.html

and :

http://www.infoworld...nd-3080149.html

As far as I'm concerned, I'm sticking to Windows 7 - which I don't dislike that much ;)  - for the time it is still possible (Updates will stop in 2020 !)

Long life to AHK ! :)

But I agree that with Windows 10 scary news I'm considering having a second computer on linux distrib and keeping my Win 7 for all the app I use.

Cheers!

I don't think MS would do such a move to disgrace itself.

But if they do, I'll sure migrate to Linux.

Xtra asked for links. This appears:

http://www.fool.com/investing/general/2015/09/20/microsoft-is-trying-to-keep-you-off-chrome-and-fir.aspx?source=eogyholnk0000001

I do believe this MS action will only increase.  All non paying, non windows may be jeopardy (ahk).

Azevedo does not believe.

Its all about money. Thats all that counts.  Its what makes everything go around. I surely dont like it (because my money is involved, one way or other.  Its capitalism, whch is good, otherwise we would have nothing.

I would switch to Linux but no AHK.  Anybody know if "Wine" would work with ahk?

The ONLY outcome of a tight lock-down is another antitrust suite. assuming or believing anything like this would ever come to exist when other OS exist is tantamount to insanity. Put NO  stock in such thoughts. I recall even seeing as recently as last year Microsoft employed a position requiring specifically AutoHotkey expertise to ensure lasting comparability. At worst they can enforce needing to be made available in the Microsoft store
