In my scripts I like to use some Soundbeeps to get an acoustic feedbacks.
After I installed Win 7 (32bit) the SOUNDBEEP-sounds was changed. It seems they are now generated by an acoustic processor.
The frequencies of SOUNDBEEP had changed. Awful sound :x . Moreover the sound is buffered and lags behind the script actions. A direct acoustical Feedback is impossible this way.

Does someone knows a workaround about this?

Searching around I found a kind of solution:
SOUNDBEEP should work the old way if replace the beep.sys file (windows\system32\drivers) by the old version from windows xp.

Now it remains to get the needed system rights (TrustedInstaller) to replace this file.

Any idea?

PS:
I found a way to get the needed rights: according <!-- m -->http://publicdemands...read.php?t=1524<!-- m --> I changed the owner information of beep.sys.
(before I stopped (reboot) and restartet the hidden device "beep" (non PnP devices).

Now I hear the old beeps again. Antiquated but in realtime. :)
