If he can't find them, we can't really use his exact design...

I know nothing about graphic design, so why not? Can you post a screenshot of what happens when the exact image supplied is used? If his exact design cannot be used, I think people might change their votes (including me). I wasn't voting for an imitation! Coke != Diet Coke. :p

To be clear, we're talking about replacing the little GIF in the upper-left corner of the site, correct? The transparent teal bar over a tilted keyboard with AutoHotkey written in purple? The pic that looks like it's from a cheesy 80's advertisement? Are you telling me that thing is in some fancy "scalable" format?

Something like this
<!-- m -->https://ahknet.autoh...gov/tmp/ahk.htm<!-- m -->
just replacing the logo and moving the navigation below the logo
to illustrate how it could look (of course more could be done but this
is pretty easy to do (heck even I managed to do it :wink:)

The logo needs to be in a format called a PSD or equivalent that can be converted to PSD. This is because the new forum will have multiple styles to choose from and the logo needs to look professional on each of them. It is possible to work on the PNG files supplied and create the right effect, but it's much easier and quicker with PSD's.

If it comes down to it, I will use the PNG supplied, but I have made contact with Philou, so he is still around and chances are, I will be able to get the PSD's.

Not that I even submitted something, but what if you don't have Photoshop?

*EDIT*
Also, don't forget the icon in the tab. :)

AutoHotkey state, the forum, Poly, and Drainx1. The short story.
I love my wife, my life, my atomic-match; for giving me the greatest gift a man could ask for, such a perfect and beautiful little girl.

Because Photoshop is a standard tool (in the industry...), some other programs are able to read and write .psd files.

Even if you don't have photoshop, you will still need an equivalent program to make a logo good enough. Any graphics design program (photoshop, GIMP, etc) will have it's own file format for layered graphics (ie a PSD if your using Photoshop). As I use Photoshop, any popular layered file format could be converted to PSD.

For those that don't know what I'm talking about, a layered file, will have each part of the graphic stored on a separate layer, so you don't have to do things like cutting around images, they can all be manipulated with ease. Files like Jpeg, gif, png etc are Flat images, i.e. all graphics are stored on one layer, so cannot be manipulated so easily.

Philou++ Clean & beautiful

No offense but I don't like Sahjul's version (too dark & gloomy and the perspective isn't correct, letters not in line)

No offense taken. That is what a poll is for..

But the letters are in line. I am sure because i just substituted the letters A,H,K in situ, and it is the same key repeated on the horizontal.

For the perspective part, you are looking for a top-on perspective, like this..
(This was made in 10 minutes, but my original submission took me an hour. It is just like philou's work.)

Anyway, i'm withdrawing my submission as Macroman is in touch with Philou, and he can make it better.

I should have taken the role of a critic, rather than a designer, it seems much easier :p

WAIT!
I voted for Philou, but your last one is fantastic. It looks so clear and professional to me. Better than the master art from Philou.

This one I like much better :D (I meant the perspective for your first one seems to be a bit off, the letters don't match the perspective of the tilted keys in my view, but it could be my mind/eyes playing a trick on me)

@ hugov
Now that i looked at it that way, it is indeed my fault . Your eyes are indeed very good :wink:

I have made the letters in perspective to the keys. (Please refresh the page to ignore cached image)
