Can be done with YARIP too, in Firefox and Pale Moon.
(Pale Moon needs a slightly modded version of YARIP though. I could provide one if needed but it's older than latest available on AMO and tested only in Pale Moon 25.8.1).
BTW, YARIP can do a lot more, such as tweaking CSS elements to match user's preferences.

use something like adblock or greasemonkey to hide elements. do it locally. it's not really a feature any website has. and inorder to save those preferences, it has to be saved somewhere. cookies or serverside. unless ofcourse you use some tool (adblock or greasemonkey or whatever else)

btw: when I minimize (it doesn't fade for me, it's scrolls up/down. accordion style) it remembers across sessions. So since you don't allow/save cookies, that's probably why they don't remain folded/hidden for you. but still, use adblock or greasemonkey or whatever else. can block anything anywhere with a simple click, remembers forever-ish.

Some of the forum headers contain a button (-/+) to fade out/in. I want to permanently fade out some of these, especially Gaming sections.

Is it possible to fade out (sub)forums permanently? All cookies are removed at the end of the browser session, so it shouldn't rely on cookies.
