Re: Scan PDF and then OpenFile

Hi FG, Since your COM code has already combined the multiple Word documents into a single Word document, you can use Word COM to do a Save As to PDF (so there's no need for Acrobat COM). For example: wdApp.ActiveDocument.SaveAs2(OutputFile,17) Regards, Joe Yea, I knew that of course. But I was sayi...

Re: Outlook contact mobile number link

You can create an Outlook contact completely programmatically through COM which is much faster and more reliable. Plus it can happen entirely in the background if you so choose. olApp := ComObjCreate("Outlook.Application") olContact := olApp.CreateItem(2) ; olContactItem := 2 olContact.Fir...

Re: Distinguishing Between Multiple Windows of Same Application

You could have your script create a new gui without title bars but specific background color or image and use a setparent dllcall to attach it to to any of your SCCM windows. This is relatively simply but has the limitation of the Gui must be in the client area of the parent window. So you can not ...

Re: Drag Child GUIs inside/outside of Parent

I also had a go at this. The result was originally a bit disappointing because of the flashing and jumping of the children. :( Edit: Attempt #2: reduced jumping, children resizeable. Nicely done! Pretty much exactly what I envisioned with someone else doing all the tedious work of actually doing it...

Re: Drag Child GUIs inside/outside of Parent

It seems that SetParent forces the child windows to remain inside the parent window, so that would have to be discarded. Not necessarily. The approach I would take would be to have when the child window is clicked on to drag, it has its SetParent set to null to basically clear its parent and then d...

Sorry, great questions. Re: Outlook COM: Setting account to send from

The idea would be a loop to read the text inside of the new emails. If it contained "This ID is now associated with" then it would then trigger a script to do X with that code, outside of outlook. Like new emails as they are received or new emails as they are sent? Or all emails in the In...

Re: Outlook COM: Setting account to send from

Alternately, does anyone know how to have a script read emails and if it containts X, do Y? :D Yes, but would need more clarity. Two big questions are which emails and where in the email? Also depending on what you want to do when found, it might be worth considering if this would be easier with a ...

Re: Insert a list of values into a looping script Topic is solved

Thanks for the responses. Unfortunately, I'm apparently still not clarifying what I'm after because this has nothing whatsoever to do with Excel. My use of Excel in the previous post was only for the sake of example. All is good though because I just got the solution on the forum's AHK IRC live cha...

Re: MS Office COM Basics

Hi Kon, Is there a way to disable macros when opening a Word file via COM? Re: How to force a program to send highlighted text to the clipboard

A secured PDF for example will allow you to highlight text but not copy it to the clipboard. Locked/secured PDFs are quite easy to unlock using Ghostscript (free, open source) - just google "unlock pdf ghostscript" and you'll find various solutions. Personally I've never had it fail, but ...

Re: How to force a program to send highlighted text to the clipboard

If the program window is actively trying to prevent you from coping and pasting then it is probably going to be very difficult to copy and paste. A secured PDF for example will allow you to highlight text but not copy it to the clipboard. You can use the Window Spy tool that comes with AHK. If when ...
