Re: New icons for v2

I believe the ideal solution would be to have a special #directive that indicates whether this script segment is written for v1, v2, or either. #Include files would need to have this present, too. Then both v1 and v2 interpreters would need to be enhanced to recognise this new special #directive, an...

Re: Easy Questions about expressions Topic is solved

That looks like the best way for that example. Sometimes I do things like this: if (a "," b "," c = "1,2,3") || (a "," d = "1,4") || (a "," e = "1,5") This can give incorrect results with some values of a, b, c, etc. For example ...

Re: Easy Questions about expressions Topic is solved

You can use objects to shorten your 'if' statements:-

1. If ([1,1][p])

2. if ({1:1,5:1}[A_Index])

Re: Upcoming Ahk2Exe changes

No, but some comments- I used to use this special version , but found some problems with it. 1. When compiling there were often transient file errors when trying to create the .exe. (I keep my sources in a Dropbox folder.) There errors do not occur with the standard version. (I believe that the file...

Re: Define the Executable Icon Within the Script

If you wish to stick with the standard AHK 1.1, you can use Compile_AHK_II which will allow you to set an icon for the executable, and much much more.

Re: Why the command names are so difficult Topic is solved

Tell your student:-
  • He is free to write his own AHK 'pause' and 'delay' functions and use these in his scripts.
  • Alternativly he could write his own interpretive language where he can choose the command/function names to suit his tastes.

You need to update AHK to a recent version (also undo the change you made).

Re: Icon change with name, any fix?

The actual icon will have changed, but windows is still showing the old icon from a cache.

To fix, log out then back in, or (slower) reboot the machine.

Re: Drop file on Script issue - brakes path down by spaces

There's an option when installing AHK to allow files to be dropped onto scripts. Did you enable this option when installing?

Alternatively, you can compile the script. Dropping files onto the compiled script will work regardless.

Re: Suggestions on documentation improvements

A general comment on the new help. It does not perform well when viewed on an iPad. (I find it quite handy to have the AHK help open on my iPad when writing scripts on my computer.) Problems noted so far are:- ⋅ the main window does not scroll properly in the web browser. When scrolling, ...

Actually, that's not a bug. For AHK scripts, XRef includes functions and labels in the 'Function Map'. As hotkeys can be the subject of 'goto' and 'gosub' commands, they are included in the report.

Cheers

Re: Cross Reference List (XRef)

@stealzy - Well, my code is not quite as confusing as you portray, as you've lost the comments and indents in your shown example! Many short variable names are simple contractions of a longer more meaningful name (saves typing). The single character names near the end of the alphabet (z, y, x, etc) ...

Re: Simulating a right Ctrl key

These are the remappings I use on my SP4. The first two lines changes the Apps key into Ctrl , while shift+Apps can be used to get Apps . The third line allows me to press alt+F4 to close an application without having to press Fn . +AppsKey::AppsKey AppsKey::Ctrl !Volume_Mute::!F4 Hope this helps.

Re: Adding company, product etc. info to binaries

The 'Preview' versions of AHK2Exe have not been maintained for many years, and are effectively orphaned. CompileAHK_II is a front end to the standard AHK2Exe and can save its various options per script, and overall. So you can set some default options that will apply to most of your scripts, and def...
