Re: Checkbox to automatically run at windows startup ?

When you check the box, would use FileCreateShortcut to stick a shortcut to the script in the Startup folder. This varies from Windows to Windows. On Windows 8.1, it is in %appdata%\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Startup\ Actually there is an AHK variable A_Startup that works it out ...

Re: Compiler Directive

The 'ahk2ExeDirectives' page you referenced refers to facilities that have not been implemented.

If you install Compile_Ahk_II and use that to compile your code, you will see that you can set version numbers and many other items in your compiled executable.

Re: A_ScripDir yields script full path instead

@uname - A_WorkingDir shows the 'current directory' which in your case is the same as A_ScriptFullPath. There could be a number of reasons why this is so. It is unclear why you think this is a bug.

Re: Control+A (Selection All) don't select text

You press ctrl+A (A is what is etched on the key you press).
The computer receives ctrl+a (which is what the send does).

Re: [suggestion] Make more clear for some people that "Download Autohotkey Installer" button downloads the installer

The '7-zip for Windows' description should be altered to say 'Portable Version' as this better reflects its use.

Re: Including files and folders

@kiwichick As stated in the # include documentation, # include s are processed before the script is executed. Therefore there are no variables defined (except as documented). Also, as SetWorkingDir is a normal executed command, it can't have any effect on what directories are used when the # include...

Re: Copy without shortcuts on custom context menu

Many context menus support accelerator keys. Look for the underlined letters - you may need to press alt to see them. Then in your script, after bringing up the context menu, you can send alt + letter to trigger the menu action.

Compile_AHK_II is an excellent compiler which uses UPX for compression instead of Mpress. It has many other useful options as well. Thoroughly recommended.

Re: Indent left-aligned text in GUI button

On assignments when assigning a number, AHK in general treats the number as a literal, so using = or := makes no difference in this case. The Numpad5 to Numpad8 errors have occurred because you need two commas after 'MsgBox' to make the command syntactically correct. [Edited reply to be more correct]

Re: Indent left-aligned text in GUI button

Life is a lot simpler if you always use expression syntax for assignments, i.e. use := rather than =.

Re: loop read file - tab characters at beginning of line are stripped Topic is solved

As an alternative to AutoTrim off you can use 'expression syntax'. Replace
currline = %A_LoopReadLine% with
currline := A_LoopReadLine

Re: I can't get this to go into a file

You need a GUI Submit at the start of the yourmail function.
Edit: You may also need Global heskas in this function as well.
