Our provider will be performing Hardware updates within the above window of time. Hopefully no functions of the forum will be impacted afterwards but if they are I will fix them that evening

In short new user posts are flags for review if they contain links images or other hidden criteria that identify with no expand. These posts are reviewed by our moderators and released as soon as possible

the problem seems to have been in the firewall on the db server. resetting it restored performance

That should be fixed now.
I have verified that the only parts of the entire site slowed are this forum. Based on this i am going to look at things like private network traffic or other db based explainations.

Our provider is updating hardware/OS for Spector/Meltdown this week. I suspect we are seeing related performance issues. Our VPS are not seeing any unusual resource usage however so this doesn't appear to be any sort of hanky panky. I want to give it till the weekend before i complain in a ticket ju...

Our hosting provider is upgrading all of their servers as well for meltdown and Spector. We could be seeing issues related to that let's give it a day or two to see if it works itself out

Not that i dont get approached. but donations and my commitment to my promise to Chris to keep it free. To be fair we have a very lean set of expenses so It's pretty easy to keep it free
