There have been no maint. on redirects or the .htaccess. I will edit the GeSHi file this weekend to add the missing folder structure. I just wish i knew when or how this changed

You need to implement the same thing that all authentication methods do. A secure server with credentials to validate a communication protocol such as HTTP a cryptographicly secure token based on the response from the secure server with the necessary cryptography to validate legitimacy. Hotstrings require an end character such as Space or Enter for example. if you are typing and clicking then the hotstring would not work.
