Re: Help with a HTTP POST request with a binary (PDF) response Topic is solved

People much smarter than myself figured it out here: https://autohotkey.com/board/topic/71528-com-winhttprequest-responsestream/page-2. I vaguely modified it to call it more easily below. To define the function: httpGetter(RequestType := "" ,URL := "" ,Payload := "" ,Fu...

SOLVED: Help with a HTTP POST request with a binary (PDF) response Topic is solved

I have to call an API & collect the PDF response. After looking at a few options, it looks like Blackholyman's code in this link is the easiest . However, the response provided by the server is a binary file (PDF) which I need to download onto my computer. I'm still googling but I'm only getting...

Re: Possible to intercept text input & manipulate?

I suggests that you post a link to the QR reader you are using or explain how it work from the perspective of your ahk script. For instance is it a command line utility that can be called from ahk or is it an application that needs to be worked around ? Good point, I just assumed that people were f...

Possible to intercept text input & manipulate?

I am working with QR codes & QR reader. The QR code has data that looks like this: GENERAL CLK5|b82a7603-b78c-4f09-a32c-f27c2185c585 The information before the pipe is useful & the information after should be ignored. However, the QR reader, rapidly collects & types the data without any ...

Re: URLDownloadToFile with original file name?

Thanks Garry. I just want to reiterate that it is an API & I do not know at the time of the request what the filename of the response will be. So my request is a lot like this: http://thesite.com/api/foo?paramter=bar And the response file is named: 74bfb59b-8410-42a7-83ad-fca268a5b49c.xlsx

URLDownloadToFile with original file name?

I want to use AHK to create a small UI for querying an API. The API generates a random UUID for each download & I just need to know the name of the file which I've downloaded. The problem is that URLDownloadToFile forces you to specify the filename upon downloading. Is it possible to get the fil...

Getting device properties from USB (Apple Ipad)

I need to collect the serial number from several different Apple Ipads. I see that if I go to the properties of my connected USB device, I see a trait called "Serial Number" and a value. How would I collect that value via the command line? I know that I can make the windows open & righ...

Compare arrays & create final array with deltas

I happened to need this & couldn't find anyone who wrote it out, so I figured I'd add my own. This script takes two multidimensional arrays and compares the first two columns as key/value pairs. I could have used a dictionary, but ADOSQL outputs tuples - which is what I needed - so I kept it all...

I've been Googling answers for over a year & haven't needed a single question. Of all things, this one stumped me.

That was it. Thanks

Closing (invisible) excel after writing

I have to create the simplest module to generate excel files. It works well as is, but I don't know how to close the connection once I've written to the file. It is invisible so I can't just alt-F4. Can someone tell me how to do it? ID := "1234567" saveFileName = %A_Desktop%\ID-%ID%.xlsx T...

Re: How to change the user agent in IE with AHK

Thanks! Ironically, I kept searching this forum because I thought it was more complicated than something that would come up on that one.

Good to see there's healthy commingling though. Thanks again, it's always appreciated.

How to change the user agent in IE with AHK

I want to use AHK to operate in the mobile version of a website. To do that, I need IE (for the COM access) and IE can change the user agent (below). I can't find (or figure out) how to change the User Agent through the command line. I could hit F12 & manipulate the mouse, but I'd prefer to do i...

How to use Web Browser object when Navigation is separate

Here I have a loop within a loop. In the outer loop I call the Navigate function to go to a given page. The inner loop also needs to navigate, but I won't know the URL in advance, so I click on a page. Based on that click, I need it to wait in the same way that Navigate makes it wait. However when I...

Re: Change Colors in Excel file with COM

I was hoping you'd say that it'd be easy! I have a macro I like. It just filters ranges of text & changes the background color for the most part (below). I guess the big question is how do I implement a VBA macro on an Excel sheet? Sub Macro2() ' ' Macro2 Macro ' ' Select...

I have started to write files to excel through COM using the code below. My one issue now is that I'd like to be able to change background & foreground colors as well as font markup (to make it bold). Is that possible through COM as well? If so, can someone point me to a tutorial? NewFileName :=...

Re: [RESOLVED] Class Stopped Working After Move to Separate

We don't formally divide them into classes. So the return doesn't just return that division of code. It returns the entire code as if it were all in one file in whatever order you had it.

Re: any AHK mail management or spam filter scripts?

There isn't a full fledged mail client written in AHK. It's possible to do, but it's not the best language for it.

For Gmail though, you can read each of your e-mails via API. You can systematically scan for blacklist e-mails or keywords & delete them. But if it's not Gmail, I don't know.

Re: AutoHotKey & SQL in a separate file...

Afterwards, I realized I could just make each variable into a function and pass it the required parameters. It's a bit more work, but it allows me to have all of the SQL on a separate file. Some of those queries are a bit long and I'd rather have them organized. Yep - that would be a better setup: ...
