Identify binary files

I would like to identify files that can be opened in a text editor.
But how do I distinguish binary files from text files?
Is there a way to identify binary files?

Re: Adding a "Stop" button to a function

You could as well check a global variable in the loop. The variable gets changed with the scan and stop button. This way the loop breaks at the next iteration.

eliminate default values with regex

I try to RemoveDefaultDefinitions from Parameters. But Can't create a needle that is robust or correct. ;Input >param1 := { 1:"Test" , "Key {2": "" } , Param3 := [ {"t,e[a]s:t{b}": {1:"t,e[a]s:t{b}","t,e[a]s:t{b}": [4 ] }}]< ;this is the cu...

Re: find #Include line by regex

One solution that eliminates the comments is this

Code: [Select all]GeSHi © Codebox Plus

NeedleInclude = O)^\s*#Incl\s+(\*i )?(?P<Path>[^;]*)(\s+;(?P<Comment>.*))?

But it doesn't find the comments now...

Why don’t you send the text of the hotstring directly ?

Re: Why use "hotkey, If"?

Custom function objects and classes are currently beyond my abilities.
A workaround to avoid too many variants could be a reload of the script after the hotkeys have changed.

Re: Why use "hotkey, If"?

I think you mean "latter" rather than "former", and If !(WinActive...) rather than If (WinActive...) . correct. IWhy would you ever use #If or #IfWinActive when you could use a normal If or If WinActive()? The answer is the same here. true Disabling a hotkey is n...

Why use "hotkey, If"?

I came accross the command Hotkey, If, <Expression> . But when I used it, I started to wonder what the benefits are. This is what I initially coded. It is not functional since it is only a snip out of a larger code: #If GuisAreActive() #If GuisAreActive(){ global hGui Return (WinActive("ahk_id ...

Re: fast help pls

Make the set timer line the first line in your code.
Currently that line never gets executed, since it is not inside any label or in the auto-exec section.

Re: Nothing.

Just my two cents :
I never had the need for a null so far.
Do I understand it right that “If 0”, “If False” and “If Null” would behave identical?

Improve Handling of BOLD for Treeview control

While working with a treeview control, I realized, that handling BOLD is not as efficient as CHECKED or SELECTED or Expanded. a) For CHECKED and SELECTED two functions exist, to find the checked or the selected item: TV_GetNext([ItemID, "Checked | Full"]) and TV_GetSelection() No function ...

I found the solution.
I had to use a while Loop instead of until. Or negate the Until Expression
