Re: RegExMatch Assistance Topic is solved

Thanks, the first one is what I was looking for. The second one is like my RegExMatch but much simpler.

RegExMatch Assistance Topic is solved

I am seeking a RegExMatch that gives me all the text from the first char to the last char, nothing less and nothing more. My RegExMatch below has a problem. It gives me one extra new line (return or feed \n\r at the end). I would like the match to stop at the very last char and no further \n\r at th...

Re: RegEx back tick modifier question Topic is solved

Thanks SirRFI for answering my question. I did not know the link your provided existed and that solved my problem. I was not trying to achieve any particular RegEx pattern, but rather was studying and learning RegEx through examples and came across this one as an exercise.

RegEx back tick modifier question Topic is solved

Happy New Year! I was analyzing the following code and could not understand the meaning of modifiers `am) [I think modifier m) stands for multiline but my big question is regarding `a) or `a (specifically the meaning and function of the back quote or back tick also called "grave accent" he...

Re: RegExFind help request for an Excel spreadsheet Topic is solved

teadrinker wrote:For AHK this works:

Code: [Select all]GeSHi © Codebox Plus

str := "-2,340.53 (-0.29%)"
RegExMatch(str, "[^\(]+(?=\))", match)
MsgBox, % match

So you could try =RegExpFind(A1,"[^\(]+(?=\))")

Thanks, now it works! :)

Re: RegExFind help request for an Excel spreadsheet Topic is solved

Try =RegExpFind(A1,".+\(\K[^\)]+") Unfortunately, this didn't work. The only way I can make it work now is a 2 step process that I'd like to combine into one single formula; First, =RegExpFind(A1,"[^\s\$]+") gives me (-0.29%) in cell B1 (for A1 example 1). I then...

RegExFind help request for an Excel spreadsheet Topic is solved

This is for an Excel spreadsheet. I tried the formula below to get contents inside the parentheses but not the parenthesis, and it does not work. Could you provide the correct expression? (Note: Formula { =RegExpFind(A1,"\(.+\)") } works but it includes the parentheses: Finds (-0.29%) for ...

Re: RegEx to find variable dollar amount in a wall of text Topic is solved

Hi, magicinmath, thanks for the effort, but this fails when I paste my wall of text. There are many other numerals before and after the sentence I highlighted in red (see above). I am seeking just the number (no USD) in that particular sentence I highlighted in red that is somewhere in the wall of t...

RegEx to find variable dollar amount in a wall of text Topic is solved

I have the following sentence in a wall of text where I want to extract an embedded variable dollar amount (could be 1 to 3 digits) between [... done for] and [USD (excl. tax) but...], so in the following case this number should be [50]. What would be the most efficient way to achieve this using Reg...
