Re: Conflicts with programs

His file is an example of using the #If directive and the WinActive function. Step-by-step instructions: (1) Save the text provided in a file with a .ahk extension. (2) Open a Notepad window because the script is going to react certain ways depending on whether a Notepad window is open or not. (3) R...

Re: Why my controlgettext failed?

You're right. Didn't think to try the cell selector box. It appears not to provide its contents as a normal edit control would.

Re: Why my controlgettext failed?

Because Notepad has a control named Edit1 and Excel doesn't.

Re: Click Position Move To Absolute Location - Drag Mouse

It is simple. The docs show that you need two sets of coordinates, and what you showed only has one. Use MouseGetPos to determine the current position, and use that for X1, Y1. Use the coordinates you want to drag to as X2, Y2.

Re: Forums log me out quickly

I have no problems when using my computer (using Chrome), but when using Safari on my iPad, I have to log in every time if it's been more than hour or so since I last was on the site. This was never an issue until the time that ex-member troll kept spamming the site with a bunch of garbage and thing...

The latest version is in the first post. I appreciate the suggestions, but I haven't incorporated anything else into it at this point.

Re: in-line calculator

Just so people new to this thread don't get the wrong impression about davebrny's script: I've been using his original script (without the back tick key to initiate) with a US keyboard, and I really like it. It's usage is simple, which is what matters to the user rather than the number of lines in t...

Re: how to focus (activate) mouse cursor

You don't even have to click. You just constantly get the ID of the window under the mouse using MouseGetPos, then activate that window using WinActivate.

Re: how to focus (activate) mouse cursor

That's the more difficult of the two problems. You have to have a loop or a timer constantly checking the mouse position and the position and size of the active window, and if it's not over it, then move it to the middle of that window. The reason you have to move it only if it's outside is that oth...

Re: how to focus (activate) mouse cursor

Do you mean that you want it to activate whichever window is under the mouse pointer? Or do you want to the mouse pointer to be moved to appear over whichever window is active?

Change the list of numbers in the first line to whatever you want. Btn := [10, 25, 33, 50, 67, 75, 90] Gui, +ToolWindow Loop, % Btn.MaxIndex() Gui, Add, Button, x+5 y5 gButtonPress, % Btn[A_Index] Gui, Show,, % " " return ButtonPress: Random, Rand, 1, 100 if (Rand <= A_GuiControl) { Gui, C...

Re: GUI with keyboard shortcuts

You could create hotkeys that are active only when the GUI is active using the #IfWinActive directive, and the hotkeys would gosub to the routine for the associated button.

Re: Add variables to string

He's just explaining how the ternary operator works. He's not saying that's a solution to your issue with wanting to supress the "`n" character after the last line.

Re: Add variables to string

After you load the file, you could split it into lines using StringSplit on "`n" so you can get a count in advance so you would know when you're on the last one. If you use a parsing loop, you won't know you're on the last one until it's done.

Re: Add variables to string

Then you'll need to determine when it's the last line and use the above instead of the one with the "`n".

Re: Add variables to string

I only added a "`n" on the end to make the equivalent of the line you showed, which had a ";" between each of them and a "`n" on the end. If you don't want it, simply remove the "`n" like this: loop, 23 FileAppend, % TempData%A_Index% ";", TempData.c...
