Re: Linux AutoHotkey version

Even if we would rewrite AHK to support Linux you would have to rewrite all your scripts since the syntax has to change for compatability reasons.

Re: autohotkey.net

These package managers follow the reuirements specifically for their language.
We need a package manager that follows the requirements for our language.

Re: [Objects] - Clone() bug? Topic is solved

Well if you want to be really precise then the function doesn't handle objects beyond a specific depth since it uses a recursion.

Re: [Objects] - Clone() bug? Topic is solved

well .() seems to be deprecated and %%() prefered but with the exception of that it seems solid.

Calculating and storing the constant once at startup seems like a good idea though.

Re: "Dynamic" ComObj("InternetExplorer.Application") Topic is solved

f(a, b, c, d) { Return a["getElementBy" . b](c)[d] } In order to access objects dynamically you have to use [] Also you might find that getElementByTagName doesn't exist. There is only getElement s ByTagName. getElementById will work normally though - but getElementsById might fail.

Re: Com obj loop help

If you make the IntrnetExplorer window visible you will see the problem. "https://secure.runescape.com/m=hiscore_oldschool/overall.ws?table=0&page=%A_Index%" Will go to the url: https://secure.runescape.com/m=hiscore_oldschool/overall.ws?table=0&page=%A_Index% And wont replace %A_I...

I don't think that limiting AHKs capabilities like that from the start will end well.

When I say traditional Loop I mean the strict C Style loop.

Re: traditional for loop: for i = a to b (step c) possibilities

- (Re. speed. For quick scripts, you save time when writing code. And for long-term scripts, you can replace the traditional for loop.) The traditional for loop is by no means slow. Thats not what I meant. AHKs internal for loop suffers from the need to create an enumerator object - which is rather...

Re: traditional for loop: for i = a to b (step c) possibilities

I don't see traditional for loops as a good thing - it's more like a hindrance to the language. I don't see a big point in them. Many of the assumptions made at the time the for loop was created turned out to be incorrect. And most of the time people just wanted to use the default implementation - c...

Re: [Request]: Official Library & Wrapper

If the download or update of the "standard Lib" can be easily automated and "the community" wants it included with the installer, that is fine with me. I just want no part in maintaining it. Thats great to hear - I always thought the same as the others. Seems we misunderstood yo...

Re: If WinActive

Re: If WinActive

Re: Thread global variables and thread ID

I think easier to write is true.
But to me they seem like a maintenance nightmare.
Also I dont see an issue with passing anything to subclasses.
Unless you made the whole code a mess there should only be one class that ever contains the PID and other classes contain specific hWNDs.
