Re: Call to nonexistent function, trotz Vorhandensein dieser Topic is solved

Re: Call to nonexistent function, trotz Vorhandensein dieser Topic is solved

Re: Improve InStr or IfInString

] The regex options ...) aren't part of the regex pattern, they are parsed and put aside , and correspond to certain option flags, which are bitwised combined to one option number , which is a pretty standard way of specify options for a function in many programming languages. For guis I think ...

Re: Improve InStr or IfInString

- OK, you see, sometimes you leave things out, and then people don't understand you. - I believe that what you meant is that function names are better than letter parameters, because the function name says what it does, and that you can use autocomplete with function names, but not with parameter l...

Re: Improve InStr or IfInString

No I don't prefer words. Re:Object's and functions: you don't understand anything about Object's. If you can't even see the conceptual difference between functions and methods. So you want me to add variables to every function that I use inStr in? AutoComplete will complete CountInStr() but ...

Re: Call to nonexistent function, trotz Vorhandensein dieser Topic is solved

Re: Improve InStr or IfInString

Yes but you miss some details due to your lack of experience, like: GUI will turn into an object which is once again not a function. Editors will auto complete a function but it won't auto fill any parameters. Words are easier to remember than single letters especially when it comes to meaning. How ...

Re: Improve InStr or IfInString

I don't want to waste my time replying to you.
You're wrong on several aspects and I don't have the time to teach you everything.
Either learn some more before trying to argument or simply leave it be.

Re: Improve InStr or IfInString

A horrible idea. Options in that style are cancerous and should never be used in any sort of function - instead you should write a different function that does exactly that instead. - That is quite a surprising and borderline extreme reaction. - AutoHotkey already allows parameters in this style, e...

Re: Improve InStr or IfInString

How about letting InStr accept an array. And replacing the case insensitive parameter with an options parameter. ;c/x/s/e (contains/exact match/starts/ends) (contains is default) ;d (no delimiter, individual characters) ;d, (delimiter: comma) ;cs/ci (case sensitive/case insensitive) ;n (numeric com...

Re: Thread.ahkgetvar and method calls

Hmm yeah though Objects without _NewEnum probably only make up a really, really small fraction of all object instances - the types often don't have _NewEnum themselves. In AHK_L: ⋅ AccociativeArray : true ( makes up 70% of all my instances ) ( I divided class into associative array and Fun...

Re: Thread.ahkgetvar and method calls

Well I can't add exceptions for each and every type of object that doesn't support _NewEnum.
In my opinion every object should support _NewEnum - it's a standard action that every object should support, at least every built in object.

Thread.ahkgetvar and method calls

I recently enhanced my display function - that turns an object into a string. After sending it to RUNIE for testing he complained that his script breaks when he uses it on a specific object. After some debugging I found out that AHK_H exits when I use a for loop on a Thread Object, more specifically...

Re: How to append CSV file on password protected location

Rather than saving it to a file on the server, it might be better to send the data to a HTTP server running on your server and let it handle the data once it arrives. Another would be to make the server execute an AHK file after a user is done writing to a specific file. Edit: on second thought you ...

Re: OOP with AHK

An Object is always the instance of a Class. Does this mean that array objects are considered classes in AHK, even though they are not defined using the "Class" keyword? Not everything is either a class or an object. I don't actually know what makes a class to a class since you can abuse ...
