Re: AutoHotkey syntax lists (text files)

We should probably use github for hosting though - so that people can edit it and see it in public.
Thanks for the link i will use it.

I dont understand what you mean - do you already have a list for operators?

Re: AutoHotkey syntax lists (text files)

No just a list of operators. I wouldn't even mention precedence.
Also not/Or/And are operators.
Methods should be in their file - I might do this this weekend.
Maintaining this list should help people to implement proper Syntax Highlighting for the latest version.

v2 should be it's own zip

Re: AutoHotkey syntax lists (text files)

Object methods are not keywords. We also need operators. Keywords are parameters that commonly give or have special meaning for functions/commands or methods and are very specific. Im not sure about that definition - but keywords is something that is commonly used to define syntax highlighters and i...

Re: AutoHotkey syntax lists (text files)

It's kind of confusing - I have no idea which file contains which info for what version.
It would be nice if you could add an Overwie.ahk that explains that.
Other than that it's good work - I'll use it to complete a few Syntax Highlighters.

Re: GDI+ standard library 1.45 by tic

Well if you have the correct gdip.ahk and still get the message then it is one of the following: A) you are running this on an old system ( prior to Win XP ) B) you are running this on Linux with WINE C) you have the wrong gdip.ahk for your AHK installation ( the original version only supported 32 b...

Re: scrap commands?

But the question comes down to is it really neccessary to add a new case to denote such a change in flow? I think that the usage and consequences of a function are dependent on it's body and the context it is used in. It is the programmers responsibility to know of those consequences and act accordi...

Re: scrap commands?

I feel like I don't understand the point that your trying to make anymore. I get that you have a specific abstract model of programming - we all do and we regularily fight which model handles which situations the best and try to find a middle path that works for the most AHK users. Could you say aga...

Re: scrap commands?

Another method would be a callback.
Also iseahound I would advise against using recursion and avoiding it whereever possible.

Re: scrap commands?

Yeah but you see I dont think they matter a lot. They are both incredibly rare and mostly covered by documentation - even if you do denote that they don't terminate or terminate the script/thread it will be useless extra unless you have a standard way to describe what the function actually does. e.g...

Re: scrap commands?

Your code with the infinite recursion would cause a crash of the program - do you mean by adding the ! you can mark a function that is buggy and might cause the program to get shut down? Well I know that you mean functions with infinite recursion - if you ask me thats a bad programming practice but ...

Re: RGB values with/without leading 0x

- Yes, basically forget about the alpha channel, unless someone wants it. Assume that only the RGB values are considered, and that the A value is ignored (assumed to be 0xFF). You say yes but my message actually said the opposite. Some functions require the alpha channel or could use it to replace ...

Re: scrap commands?

OK then lets use throw.
The return value is 0 for undefined ( in the cases you mentioned above ) any return value >0 is a defined PID and if it fails it will throw an exception.

Re: Farbig beschriftete Buttons

Re: scrap commands?

I dont understand why you see a need to differentiate between functions that return something and functions that return nothing ( same thing for methods ). Thats just meaningless extra work either you return something or you dont - either you call the function with the intent for it to return someth...
