Re: [Script] PersistentSaveFolder

I have some scripts that may be useful: [See CFD/CID functions (old-style Common File Dialog, new-style Common Item Dialog).] GUIs via DllCall: get/set internal/external control text - AutoHotkey Community https://autohotkey.com/boards/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=40514 [JEE_DlgInvokeBtn: for CFDs/CIDs: ...

Re: Rock... Paper... Scissors... Program it!

Great. I have now written a game in AutoHotkey. I'm pretty good at guessing what the computer is going to do next. ;paper scissors stone (aka rock paper scissors) ;by jeeswg ;P > R, R > S, S > P vScoreU := 0, vScoreP := 0 oArray := ["P","R","S"] oArray2 := {"P"...

Re: show svg/wdp/jxr/animated gif image files in a GUI

@Delta Pythagorean: I guess I could improve on my WebPic function to allow multiple files/web images. - Only if you want more features, I wasn't suggesting to change it in any way. The GUI looked quite nice in your script. What I had in my mind were things like name (path, and info e.g. date/dimensi...

Re: How do I store a LONG string as a variable?

I would suggest using FileRead, to put text into a variable. You can store text verbatim in AutoHotkey using continuation sections, starting with: (% ` Join`r`n or (% ` [See: ANSI (CP-1252) CHARACTERS (VERBATIM) (WYSIWYG) (CONTINUATION SECTIONS)] jeeswg's characters tutorial - AutoHotkey Com...

Re: How best to read in a whole file and output to clipboard?

- I have two ideas for this, one using WM_CHAR, which can be a slightly slow for thousands of characters, the other using the clipboard. Both use EditPaste for Edit controls which avoids using the clipboard. - What program are you using? In case there are better ways than these, e.g. Internet Explor...

Re: Suggestions on documentation improvements

Just to let you know, I believe that Ctrl+F to find/focus text on Internet Explorer 11 (Windows 7) is not working on the AHK v1/v2 documentation pages. (It's working on Firefox and Chrome.) [EDIT:] The find box appears fine, but when I press enter, no text is found/focused. I then try the same thing...

Re: AlwaysOnTop not staying on top

Windows 10, with built-in MS software, typically causes unusual problems for AutoHotkey (although there may be workarounds). Also, admin windows can cause problems. So I would recommend using some simple non-Microsoft, non-admin software for doing testing e.g. NirSoft utilities, they are portable, a...

Re: AlwaysOnTop not staying on top

This may solve the problem. The issue is: what happens when two windows have the WS_EX_TOPMOST extended window style. If you alternate between two on-top windows with alt-tab, the active one will overlap the inactive one. Thus it may be desirable, when you make one window on-top, to make the other w...

Re: show svg/wdp/jxr/animated gif image files in a GUI

- I want an improved version of SplashImage (that could handle more formats including animated gifs) / a custom image viewer. I mentioned one workaround above, which fills an IE control with an image, (if possible I would like to put multiple images/text in one IE control, plus its easier to set a s...

Re: show svg/wdp/jxr/animated gif image files in a GUI

@Delta Pythagorean: Thanks for the suggestion, unfortunately, I tested your script and it didn't work with my svg file (although it did handle other filetypes), it just showed an image not loaded icon. When I used the code above in my script, again it worked with other filetypes, but showed the icon...

Re: show svg/wdp/jxr/animated gif image files in a GUI

- I don't know what exactly that code would do. Also, I don't like making changes to the registry. I would imagine that svg files could be incorporated within html, and loaded into an IE object, like in my first post. - If you want to explore that idea further, re. the code in the link, I would sugg...

Re: Duplicate script able to run from different location how to stop it

- I would suspect that something like this script would come in useful at some point. - You can check the window titles to see if a particular script is open, and use WinClose to close a script. - The built-in variable, A_ScriptHwnd, might be useful, to compare it with hWnd. q:: ;list open AutoHotke...

Re: Do Autohotkey scripts require running as administrator?

- What exactly happens, the window is closed (and not destroyed)? The script continues to run? Does the script 'crash' in any way? - Why would it only close AutoHotkey windows, and not other windows? Are other windows being closed? - Is there something in the window title? So it thinks it's closing ...

Re: show svg/wdp/jxr/animated gif image files in a GUI

- This works to show an svg in an 'Internet Explorer_Server' control. - What I can't do currently, I would like to be able to show an svg and other things like txt etc in the same control. - Also, I've been having problems trying to zoom/scroll the image cf. the IE control here: control zoo (AHK v1....

Re: Do Autohotkey scripts require running as administrator?

- The AHK v2 idea, was just a thing I would try, I have no particular reason to believe it would work. I would try a very small script just to see if it worked. - Have you tried GUI scripts of a few lines? - The MsgBox command might be a bad example if just uses a simple Winapi function (MessageBox)...

Re: Hoykey stops working, doesn't work twice in a row

- Could it be that the program is admin? - When you press the hotkey on a non-admin window, the hotkey works, and the program is activated. - When the program is active, you press the hotkey and it doesn't work, because the active window is admin (and you launched AutoHotkey as non-admin). - AutoHot...

Re: Do Autohotkey scripts require running as administrator?

- Do GUIs in AHK v2 work?

Re: conversion logic, v1 = -> v1 := -> v2, two-way compatibility

CHECKING SCRIPTS FOR ERRORS - In theory, it would be useful to have a script that could list all of the errors in a script, not just the first one, via the command line. (Perhaps this is already possible but I couldn't see how to do this.) - A workaround could be to retrieve the text from, and dismi...

Re: Detect if PhonerLite is running

- Omg, yes, just run the exe, sometimes the simplest solutions are the best, that was the answer for me oftentimes for most programs, when tray icons disappeared. I.e. before I used AutoHotkey, I'd click the Start menu icon again. - I would imagine that by using the tray icons library, you could ret...
