Re: Open New Tab In Chrome Problem

I cannot reproduce your problem.
Is this your complete and only script?
Which versions of AHK and Chrome are you using?

Re: { and } inScript

Code: [Select all]GeSHi © Codebox Plus

^f::
send {{}\bf FB{}}\\

Re: Detecting new content in a browser window

Depends, what you consider easy. These are probably the most reliable methods, if you also want to extract some data: Often, if only certain values change (like stock prices), the html source code gets updated via javascript. Just check regularly the relevant parts of the html via IE com, chrome.ahk...

Re: Conditions within a hotstring

This is by design for non-auto-replace hotstrings. But you can do this: ::tst:: Send, test%A_endchar% return This will work for most end characters. Or, you could use context-sensitive hotstrings and auto-replace : #If WinActive("ahk_exe firefox.exe") ::tst::_test_ #If ; ends context-sensi...

Re: Mapping characters to keys problem

Hi Matt, this works for me, only tested on one layout and computer:

Code: [Select all]GeSHi © Codebox Plus

sendinput {text}copy "Filename with spaces.doc" c:\test
sendinput {Enter}
Note that {Text} mode needs Autohotkey version v1.1.27+

Re: +1 feature on the forum

Carelessness rather comes to mind, reading your responses. Is this what we have today so awful? Edit: Wow, innovation for innovation's sake - now you seem to be riding a dead horse. I have worked a long time in online marketing. There, and in markting generally, you sell a lot - with something we ca...

Re: +1 feature on the forum

In the end the most important thing is to have fun and have a good time, it's nice to know that someone has voted you positively. That's part of what I mean. Personal fun for some that might ruin the whole thing for others. In the end, upvotes don't tell you much - upvotes are given for all kind of...

Re: +1 feature on the forum

Well, you doubled down. No need to insist on something like this without further arguments (if at all). But ok, then we seem to be on the isle of the blissful, totally disconnected from the rest of the internet and human behaviour in general (this thread might be already a small proof against it, th...

Re: +1 feature on the forum

Oh, great, if we have some other type of users here, let's just try something different here, without upvotes. You do not seem to understand the real purpose of this. It is not the alleged purpose that I criticise, but the real effects that will occur and that can be observed all over the internet. ...

Re: +1 feature on the forum

Your attitude seems a bit immature to me. I don't see this as immature, but have you been to the internets recently? I think all these social networks work mostly on narcissism, insecurity and immaturity - and upvotes are a large part of the fodder that fuel their essential social processes. I can ...

Re: How can a test of 64 or 32 bit be possible if the file won't run on both? Topic is solved

Testing is not the problem:

Code: [Select all]GeSHi © Codebox Plus

msgbox % (A_PtrSize = 4 ? 32 : 64) "-bit"
(there is also A_Is64bitOS)
On a 64 bit machine, you can run both 32 and 64 bit programs (that means, also 32 and 64 bit AHK - and you can compile both). On a 32 bit system you only run 32 bit programs.

Re: +1 feature on the forum

It already gives me the shudders... these systems automatically change the ways of social interaction, if you want it or not... and I don't know any forum with these "features" that I like better than this one, so far, or that I would consider more helpful. Hence, I say no.

Re: +1 feature on the forum

Sometimes there is nothing more to say, and in order not to repeat the same, you simply give a positive vote. So... positive reactions result in upvotes and negative reactions in posts (even if they all repeat the same)? [...]a positive vote from a new user usually does not have the same "impo...

Re: Locked files bug? Topic is solved

Well, I didn't doubt that attachments are working. But your post doesn't address the fact that you don't free the COM object, does it?
Have you tried to free it after you are done with it? Or did I overlook it?
I don't know if it will help, but I would at least try it...

Re: Locked files bug? Topic is solved

I just quickly glanced at your code, but perhaps you should try to free the created objects ( := "" ), especially the COM object which handles the file attachments, after you are done with them  .

Re: How to capture text from a window in a hidden way?

Not really. It's quite normal for all common browsers. After all, there are many other windows applications with non-custom elements that cannot be accessed easily via "low-level" methods. Obviously, browsers wouldn't get far in displaying websites with standard MS Windows control elements...

Re: How to capture text from a window in a hidden way?

I am surprised: Is the Ctrl+a & Ctrl+c method really the single available method we have? There is no more or less generally usable alternative to it? Huh, is that so? I never recommended this approach... So using IE Com or the Chrome library are no options?!? You could even use these in the ba...

Re: Problem with arrays out function in msgbox

More complete code would be better for illustrating your problem. For example, the built-in variable A_index exists only in normal loop s - like this, we cannot check what you might be doing wrong. There are many ways to handle arrays and to use them in functions . Two examples with linear arrays: a...
