Re: Programmatically add cursor resource to Exe/Dll with UpdateResource api?

Any of you experts have any words of wisdom or advice on what i should be researching to make sense of this? One or more RESDIR structures immediately follow the NEWHEADER structure in the .res file. The ResCount member of the NEWHEADER structure specifies the number of RESDIR structures. Note that ...

Re: EitherMouse 0.59 - Multiple mice, individual settings...

That Mouse3 in your last diagnostic or Mouse2 in the first one is troublesome... It has no hardware id and an oddly low "device handle"... I don't really know how to approach this, but if you want to keep trying stuff, you can clear all settings, only use one mouse for a bit (move, click a...

Programmatically add cursor resource to Exe/Dll with UpdateResource api?

Taking the function ReplaceIcon() (or ReplaceAhkIcon(), care of fincs and Pulover) I'm trying to create a comparable ReplaceCursor() to use UpdateResource API to add cursors to exe (or dll) Any help greatly appreciated: [code file=ReplaceCursor.ahk:399m1kvz] ReplaceCursor(re, CurFile, cursorID) { f ...

Re: EitherMouse 0.59 - Multiple mice, individual settings...

You should be able to press Ctrl-C on the (any) msgbox to copy the contents... Weird though, you have mouse1 and mouse3 detected as the same hardware, but mouse2 has no hardware detection info... Try disabling x-mouse and any other utilities, clear all settings in EitherMouse, and reassign the mice ...

Re: Help calling Shell_NotifyIconGetRect(), build NOTIFYICONIDENTIFIER structure

Thanks LinearSpoon, 1. Yeah I'm testing in 32-bit... once I got it working I figured I'd try to make the changes to support 64-bit, but as you can tell I'm an amateur so just trying to get it working is first priority 2. is see, I was assuming guidItem was a pointer to the structure, which made my s...

Re: Using SetupDiGetDeviceRegistryProperty() from SetupAPI to get SPDRP_FRIENDLYNAME of mouse

So maybe this information isn't saved the way it used to be... The example here: http://www.autohotkey.com/board/topic/70334-detecting-hardware-changes-for-example-new-usb-devices/ Edit: so the way i figure is XP used SPDRP_LOCATION_INFORMATION for this string, and was later fixed to use SPDRP_DEVIC...

Re: EitherMouse 0.59 - Multiple mice, individual settings...

Hmm, have you tried "clear all settings" from the menu? The Touchpad shouldn't have a zero handle and an empty device string so maybe it was improperly saved in EitherMouse

Maybe try initializing them the opposite way, mouse first touchpad second, after clearing the settings

Re: EitherMouse 0.59 - Multiple mice, individual settings...

Hmm... I think that's a good sign. Now I'll make a more specific test and see where the ID'ing in EitherMouse goes wrong... Start with: http://www.eithermouse.com/Troubleshooting/EitherMouseDiagnostic.exe and copy (ctrl-c on the msgbox works) the message and let me know what is said, ie: MouseCount:...
