From the web site... "Send files through a safe, private, and encrypted link that automatically expires to ensure your stuff does not remain online forever."
I just found this today. I have not tried it yet. Looks useful for sending large files to others. You don't have to worry about deleting the file because the files automatically expire.
A comment for someone who looked into it (might be an insider or fluffer):
"Can we just take a moment to talk about how awesome it is that the server knows nothing about what you sent besides the file name and type? The file gets encrypted by the browser and the key is never actually sent to anyone, it just gets appended to the URL you get. I just really love Mozilla for pushing this zero-knowledge approach to privacy AND allowing anyone to self-host all of their services. Kudos to everyone working there."
Firefox Send - Share up to 1 GB files with Firefox via any browser
Re: Firefox Send - Share up to 1 GB files with Firefox via any browser
Works well on Firefox desktop and Android Chrome. My friend who uses iOS Safari said he's unable to copy the link after uploading a file on his mobile.

Interesting. They made a minor change to the description on web site calling it a "Test Pilot, Web Experiment" so this is definitely not the final product. Hopefully they will quickly fix these browser issues. In the future, they will probably publish a list of browsers (and minimum version) that are supported.TheDewd wrote:Works well on Firefox desktop and Android Chrome. I did a quick test on my PC. I sent a small (2.1 MB) file using Chrome. I then downloaded the file using Firefox. No problems. I then tried to download it using IE v11.0.96.xxx. Received a "Your browser is not supported" error message.
Updated information: The link expires after 24 hours or after 1 download. This somewhat limits to value of the service. If you need to share your stuff with 2 or more people, you have to use something else. The 24 hour limit is reasonable but hopefully the "1 download" limit will change in the future.

Re: Firefox Send - Share up to 1 GB files with Firefox via any browser
This project was recently (August 9) upgraded to v1.1.0. Changes include:
- Added support for Microsoft Edge and Safari.
- You can now send files from iOS (results may vary with receiving on iOS).
- File hashes are no longer sent to the server.
- You can now copy to clipboard from a mobile device, and we detect if copy-to-clipboard is disabled.
- Support for 36 languages.

It took a while but the project has now been officially launched. You can now send up to 2.5GB.
