I installed the beta of Windows 10 and my scripts seem to be running fine. I installed the 32 bit version of Win 10 (I installed it on an old Dell D620 which couldn't handle 64 bit) and running the 32 bit unicode version of AutoHotKey v1.1.16.05

Re: AutoHotKey and Windows 10
I'm just wondering of what new features that autohotkey will be able to take advantage of.

Did you guys catch this nbc tweet when the announcement took place? https://twitter.com/cbsnews/status/517146357594075137
Re: AutoHotKey and Windows 10
I can confirm that AHK runs pretty well in my windows 10 VM. I'm wondering if I can get it to hook into OneGet

Yeah- it amazes me what happens when marketing/advertising people get involoved. They don't realize they are just embarrassing themselves.
I half suspect that "Chrome" was named because it was "shiny and fast" lol

Actually there were technical reasons as well:Joetazz wrote:Yeah- it amazes me what happens when marketing/advertising people get involoved. They don't realize they are just embarrassing themselves.

Re: AutoHotKey and Windows 10
who would have known that MS would take this naming scheme?
95 -> 98 -> ME -> XP -> Vista -> 7, 8, 9, 10
if I'm developing for 98/me/xp/2000, i wouldn't blame someone for using that type of code..

I guess you're right... But this still could have been avoided

Re: AutoHotKey and Windows 10
IE is not going away, namely, the underlying MSHTML+COM engine. MS is not that stupid to remove an operating system component so many programs rely on.

Re: AutoHotKey and Windows 10
Are you sure ? Since the intro of cortana , dragon naturally speaking will no longer work . It seems cortana needs these resources and has told Nuance that it is their problem to work around , and MSR no longer works . How much priority does IE really have , if they replace it with a new browser to be in competition with Chrome and firefox.fincs wrote:IE is not going away, namely, the underlying MSHTML+COM engine. Re: AutoHotKey and Windows 10
I think IE will only ship with enterprise versions. All other versions will have the Spartan browser. Which, still does not run on webkit!
Re: AutoHotKey and Windows 10
I know, right? I'm still on Windows 7 (both at work and at home) so I'm really looking forward to it. idk if they will actually pull it off, but I read on MSDN they're introducing a "universal app" concept, one platform for all Windows devices. Can you picture AHK running on a tablet or phone? That would be awesome! But even if that's still not gonna happen any time soon, there are a bunch of new APIs that I'm sure we can use (especially now that there's that .Net interop script). Maybe even Cortana; that'd be pretty sweet too.joedf wrote:I'm just wondering of what new features that autohotkey will be able to take advantage of.
But the main thing is, it sounds like you guys are still able to use AHK with Windows 10. Even if all the cool new stuff we're hoping for turns out to be unrealistic, not ready yet or whatever, at least AHK scripts are still running on Windows 10!
PS - Where can I get a beta version of Windows 10? I would love to fire up a VM myself.

Awesome! Thanks. Can't wait to check it out.
Re: AutoHotKey and Windows 10
Yeah! In addition to that, Raspberry has been working with Microsoft to support Windows 10 on the Pi 2. That, is something I'm REALLY looking forward to!Miguel7 wrote:I read on MSDN they're introducing a "universal app" concept, one platform for all Windows devices.
