Would anyone be interested in participating in a simple game development project?
Users would decide on a specific game idea, and then each user would attempt to create a game based on the chosen idea.
The same user could submit multiple version of their project if desired.
The goal is that there is one idea, and many users can make an attempt to create the same game, and we can see how many different solutions the users came up with to create the game.
Not the first time this has been done, but I would like to do it again for fun.
Simple game creation competition?
Re: Simple game creation competition?
+1
I even have an Asteroid clone ready to go. Actually, I have an Asteroid clone, If it's ready to go will depend on the conditions of the competition.

Re: Simple game creation competition?
I don't yet know about enforcing any conditions other than having to use AutoHotkey to create the game.
I also don't know that "competition" is the best word to use to describe this project. It probably doesn't have to be a contest, or have a specific end date.
We could just decide on an idea, create a single post for the game, and then all participants can post their version of the game for as long as they want.

Re: Simple game creation competition?
I think the first project should be simple to understand. What about a text adventure like ZORK? Create an array of acceptable verbs, nouns, locations, etc.
Re: Simple game creation competition?
Sounds pretty interesting. I agree, the project should be very simple and straightforward. It would be cool if more people joined in though.
