New to all this, needing a little information , before asking for help

Hi folks..I have an issue that I hope to be able to solve utilising a script. Before going into what i need to do, I thought Id ask if it was possible first.

I fly simulators and have built a cockpit of a spitfire, the trim wheels used for rudder and elevators are attached to two 10k pots with a range showing of 0-100 { 50 being midpoint/neutral position }. The game I use , unfortunately, uses a keyboard press to adjust the in game trim. Would a script work, that converts the axis of the cockpit rig into a keyboard press for both positive and negative movement from the midpoint??

Hope someone can help me out, I work on programming at my work, but have never even looked at scripting before lol
