automate
Why?
Because i came across autohotkey after 2 months of searching something similar, then i read the reviews and then joined.
So when someone googles something similar, he or she might use the word automate like "how to automate this or that etc.
so something like automate.org/net/com/bla/bla/bla
so that google gives the link to the site.
ANOTHER CHOICE i already stated ahk2
Whatever it is do it soon
do it soon :)

Re: AHK(v2) rebranding [Name Suggestions]
I don't like "AHS" very much, if you pronounce AHK you probably say "A-H-K" or AutoHotkey, for AHS it might sound too much like a person's buttocks, won't help with getting recognition as a serious solution: "What do you use? I use ass...." - Keep AHK or AutoHotkey as part of the name, so AHK+ AHK2 AutoHotkey2 etc - that way it is easy to understand the origin and that could be beneficial.
Edit: if you do go for a new name and/or abbreviation I suggest something unique - this will help people searching for scripts, solutions, help etc. Any "play" on regular words won't help, for example if you call it "automate" and you search for a script to click a button you might search for "automate script button click" you will not find many solutions directly related to this "automate" program.

WASH has all the usual/common keywords (SEO ranking-wise):
Windows+Automation
Windows+Scripting
Automation+Scripting
Automation+Hotkeys
Hotkeys
etc.
And it's quite catchy
Friend: Hey, do you know any tool that'll help me automate this data entry task?
You: Go WASH it!

ASDF? Stands for AutoHotkey Script Development Facility, a facility to develop AutoHotkey scripts..
I'm not too creative when it comes to create a name for something, in fact I usually takes 5-30 minutes just to think of a name on The Sims

tomoe's suggestion reminded me of typing class. If asdf doesn'y fly, maybe we could use jkl;
No offense intended, it just struck me as funny.

Re: AHK(v2) rebranding [Name Suggestions]
I believe I like AHK++ the best.
For what it's worth, I did some google searches with and without quotes, and recorded the number of hits:
ahk2 74,700
"ahk2" 13,400
ahkv2 1,350
"ahkv2" 663
ahk++ 8,900,000
"ahk++" 1,270
I think the 8 million hits is probably because google drops the ++ for searching.
But also: AHK2 is a gene: AHK2 (ARABIDOPSIS HISTIDINE KINASE 2);

I'd prefer jkl - as this might be a senseful acronym:Morpheus wrote:tomoe's suggestion reminded me of typing class. If asdf doesn'y fly, maybe we could use jkl;
JK - is the acronym for my real life name (Jo.... K....)
So JKL might spell as Jo... K...'s Language! Would be great!!!

Favorite suggestions so far:
AutoHotkey2
AHK
PrimeScript
Crisp (or CrispScript, for extra fun pronounciation)
WASP
Weasel
There are a lot of bad suggestions (sorry to say, but yeah), but these ones are decent. I especially like Wasp.

Re: AHK(v2) rebranding [Name Suggestions]
At first I was thinking of WAS - Windows Automation Scripting.
Quick check *.was files are for Procomm Plus Script Source Code File
Checking on *.saw "Living Scenes Jigsaw Puzzles"
Which seems ok since I assume barely anybody would use that.. :p

Re: AHK(v2) rebranding [Name Suggestions]
I must sadly say, I think AHK, AutoHotkey, lacks in the "hotkey" department.
- No anykey
- doesn't work in a lot of games (can't be helped, atleast not without some advanced stuff)
- no support for stuff like: key & key2 & key3::
- no built-in stuff for double clicking (or triple, quad, etc) and detecting them
- etc.
All FAQs.
So I think the name shouldn't contain "hotkey" (HK in AHK)
but instead be something else.
- AutoMacro
- AutoAutomation
- SAW - Scripting & Automation for Windows
Or we could go entirely different. Lots of professional programs have seemingly random names, or clever names slightly related to their program.
Chrome, firefox, pidgin, blink, python, avast, blender, etc
We could do something similar, not a typical (and IMO, overused) acronym or abbreviation that spells out a word. Think of a random fruit, animal, veggy, location, inanimate object, profession, ancient dead person, whatever.
So, we make scripts. Scripts.... scripts.. Maybe some poet or writer (not necessarily a famous one) name?
Banana! it's the color of homemade paper (scripts). and a fun name.
other.. too lazy to think right now.
