Current "Editors" section title is misleading.

27 Jun 2017, 13:14

I think that current "Editors" section title is misleading. There are not only editors. If text editor has editor, debugger, and GUI WYSIWYG designer we cannot call it simple editor it is already IDE. Also in that section, there is "Pulovers Macro Creator" which is Macro Recorder/Editor, not just an editor. Also, AutoGUI is GUI WYSIWYG designer, not an editor. Also, there are many other tools that are not editors.
I suggest to rename "Editors" section to "IDEs and other AutoHotkey tools". It will more precisely reflect the content of that section.

Umm we originally voted to dedicate this section to tools for editing AutoHotkey. I'm fine with renaming it to IDEs but your suggestion would be misleading then.
However as much as I agree that your Version is more accurate I think it is more important to use words that newbies know, thus it is named Editors.

Yes you are right. What about "Editors, IDEs, other AutoHotkey tools" ?

I think that would just be confusing for new users. Also why other tools?

I don't see a tool that is misplaced. All the tool in that section are at least able to edit AutoHotkey code. Their approach towards that goal does not invalidate the qualification as Editor or?

I wouldn't exactly call them IDEs...
Anyhow, IDEs are essentially editors with built in tools, compiler, skeleton code, etc.

Well I don't really know about the rest but AHK Studio certainly is a IDE.

Keep or make it start with "Editors" as even newbs will understand what that is as opposed to IDEs, GUI, Tools etc.

Editors, IDEs, Macro Recorders, GUI Tools and more

or just be happy there is a subforum and keep it as i :)

I can go with adding word, but "Editors" keyword must remain.
@nnnik I guess judging with the description I gave, AHK Studio definitely fits as one, even AutoGUI.
