For Mac OS X you are better off for the most part developing stuff in JXA for JXA.

Even if you did insist on rebuilding AHK from the ground up for Mac OS X you would have to run everything through OSAScript anyway... So it seems a bit pointless when Javascript/JXA and Autohotkey_L are so similar to each other...

Perhaps of interest for Linux users:
