I think the speed can be different because of different server load (the number of users online, spam activity and etc.). For me speed is now ok.

i did notice a difference in standard offerings for all hosting packages at godaddy. seems they now offer ddos monitoring and prevention. I wonder if they are adding that to old accounts and its just now getting to us

the rest of the Internet is fast like always (30 down / 30 up)

edit: now its fine again (after 10-15 minutes slow loading)

Around the time of the latest slowdown (for the last week) I have been getting "cannot load page - too many redirects" on occasion. Also clicking on the ”view first unread post" icon often goes to start of page only and not to the first unread message.

Using safari on my iPad.

Yes, it is. We know nothing yet. All we know is the SSL handshake is causing the slow down.
Could be only temporary.
