"Mark Forums read" link on "New posts" page?

Would it be possible to add the "Mark Forums read" to the "New posts" page as well?

This is how I read forums. Your mileage may vary.
I usually use "New posts" and then scan through the new entries. If I am interested in one, I open it in another tab in the browser with the middle mouse button.
At the end of the "New posts" list, I would like to find the "Mark Forums read" button. Unfortunately, in this forum here I have to first go back to the forum and then I will see the button on the top of the screen.

The "new posts" page is not an actual page. It is actually a search result page. It is phpbb's design. Personally, I don't know how this gives much benefit.
