Allow users to mark topics as resolved also on this forum

23 Nov 2017, 06:01

When I resolved my recent topic "Mark a topic as resolved", I wanted to apply the same button to mark my own resolution, but wasn't able to. This could be because it was my own reply, but I think it is because that button is not enabled in this forum. Either way, I don't see a reason for this limitation and suggest the button to be available on all forums, or at least on those that deal with issues.

Hmm, I don't know why this is marked as resolved. I couldn't do that, so who did?

In forum issues, I don’t remember but I think it’s set so only moderators can set topic as resolved. And in Ask For Help, it should be any user.

Thank you for confirming my impression, joedf. So my request still stands, although I would reword my reasoning now, taking your explanation in account.

But it's really strange that a moderator would set it as resolved; it obviously isn't resolved, and without at least writing something like "won't fix" it can't even honestly be regarded closed. Can a moderator please reset it?
