Where is the "BBCode Guide"?

15 Jan 2018, 13:02

I am trying to get a betting understanding of using BBCode. The FAQs for using this forum have, when I search them for "BBCode" the following:
What is BBCode?
BBCode is a special implementation of HTML, offering great formatting control on particular objects in a post. The use of BBCode is granted by the administrator, but it can also be disabled on a per post basis from the posting form. BBCode itself is similar in style to HTML, but tags are enclosed in square brackets [ and ] rather than < and >. For more information on BBCode see the guide which can be accessed from the posting page.
Where is "the guide which can be accessed from the posting page"? I have looked and looked and looked. As a second point, I am not really even sure what is meant by "posting page".

[indent=]is this indented?[/indent]

Secondly, does the above appear indented? No. Why not? I used the "ident=" button when composing.

Thirdly, why is there not simply a link to this guide in the FAQs?

In the 'full editor & preview' mode, there is a link to 'BBC Code' on the right (just beneath the smilies). If you click it, you get here: https://autohotkey.com/boards/faq.php?mode=bbcode

For indentation, you will have to add a number (of tabs?) after the '=', something like 'indent=10' in the first brackets.

I once maintained an enhanced version of the "BBCODE-Guide" - the sources are still available (https://github.com/hoppfrosch/AHKScript_BBCodeGuide).

I stopped working on this, as there was no feedback on changes on BBCode within this forum and no infromation on injecting my page in this forum. Maybe now is the time to revive it. If there is interest, I'll transfer my repository to the https://github.com/ahkscript organisation.

hoppfrosch, I would very much like to see your guide revived, if you have the time to do it.

Thanks. :)
Found it at https://hoppfrosch.github.io/AHKScript_BBCodeGuide , it would do well to be stickied somewhere in About Community, or at least linked in the FAQ.
Pity about the AHK Boards logo not showing at the top - sure thing the name matches that on the top of the forum.
