AHK 1.1.23.1

04 Mar 2016, 07:25

Since moving to 1.1.23.1 I have been seeing many instances where compiled programs crash on computers. I did not have these issues when using older versions.
Has anyone else run into similar issues? Not sure how to debug this.

Unless you're willing to put in some hours and more, just roll back to the previous version.
If you're up for the task though, then try to isolate the issue, whether it's some majic that is 'added' (regardless of the script's contents) during compilation or maybe something to do with a specific command/function/thingaling. From what you said, it's not a not an issue with every compiled script so it's very likely that it has to do with how it 'translates' some command in your script(s).
Another thing you should check is the patchnotes for changes to things like "#MaxMem" or something like that which could allow faulty logics to leak a small ocean inside your computer.

There's also this issue that has been reported with 1.1.23.0 and 1.1.23.1:

I haven't seen any reports like this with 1.1.22.09, which was the last 1.1.22 release before the first 1.1.23 release. Regards, Joe

The crashing only occurs on compiled scripts. Running the ahk source directly has not caused the issue.
I don't want to remain on this version forever, so I will have to take some time to try to figure out why it fails on some computers and not on all across the board.
