Issue using AHK and IE 11 or Edge

I have simple replacement macros for email and the like.
In IE 11 and Edge they do not work.
I am using windows 10.
I have attempted running as administrator only so far.
For instance:

:*ro:mheft ::MH_eft

does not work.
