Hotkeys preceded by * from ListHotKeys

26 Mar 2017, 19:32

Hello,

What does it mean when some of the hotkeys obtained using ListHotKeys are preceded by an asterisk and then repeated with the word "up"?

For example:
^1
F1
*Numpad0
*Numpad0 up
*F2
*F2 up
^r
^q
*^Del
*^Del up
^Esc
^End
Thanks
A ------------------------------ [A LOT OF SPACE] ------------------------------ LOT

"ALOT" is not a word. It never has been a word and it never will be a word.
"A LOT" is 2 words. Remember it as though there's [A LOT OF SPACE] between them.

My guess is that they are two separate Hotkeys.

See this page, where they describe the use of UP
https://autohotkey.com/docs/Hotkeys.htm#keyup

Even in the example they use for a hotkey with a separate up, both use the wildcard which is what the * is.

*Edit looks like I was half right.

See the documentation for remapping keys (search for *a::).
