Switch LAlt and LCtrl with working LAlt+Tab switching

Hi community!

I am so happy I came across AHK, as I recently started to work with windows but am still so used to Mac shortcuts after having them used exclusively for ten years.

In the beginning I mapped all those Ctrl+<some key> to Alt+<somekey> but it would be so much simpler doing just

LCtrl::LAlt

Unfortunately this makes Alt+Tab stop working. I'd like my new Ctrl (the hardware Alt) +Tab to switch between apps. Just in app tab-switching with my new Alt (Hardware Ctrl) Key + tab works out of the box.
I am aware of

• the fix the documentation advertises and
• have also tried the solution from this thread.

Unfortunately neither solutions are working for me. Could you please help me?
