Autohotkey app opens documentation, doesn't start the app
Autohotkey app opens documentation, doesn't start the app
I have installed Autohotkey, and whenever I try to open the app, its opening the documentation . I tried from installation folder and the situation is the same. Any ideas how I an fix it ?
Re: Autohotkey app opens documentation, doesn't start the app
because you don't run autohotkey.exe, you run scripts. as that page suggests and the tutorial shows.

AutoHotkey is not an App. It is an interpreter for running AutoHotkey Scripts ( .ahk files ).
Recommends AHK Studio

In the task pane, I guess I should see AHK ?
So, now there should be a ahk script as mentioned here and when I right click it, I get the options.

follow the text instructions from the tutorial. it doesn't get any easier than that. there's literally no way we can break it down any easier.

Re: Autohotkey app opens documentation, doesn't start the app
make a new text file containing: "msgbox I CAN DO AHK CODINGS N STUFF" (without quotes)
show file extensions https://www.howtohaven.com/system/show- ... orer.shtml
rename that text file to "TEST.AHK"
drag that TEST.AHK onto Autohotkey.exe
if you get stuck at this point - unplug everything from the rear of your computer tower, carry the now separated tower out of your front door and proceed to carry it to the nearest bridge, face perpendicular to the direction of the bridge and rest the tower on your hand
With a firm shove, accellerate the tower into a ballistic trajectory and if you so desire, follow suit.

Re: Autohotkey app opens documentation, doesn't start the app
This is a bit new to me, I remember seeing ahk running in the task pane and got puzzled, well I'd be glad to read the docs and get the hang of it.

what "task pane"? the start bar / taskbar?
if yes... yes, people can get icon down there. mainly if you have a GUI for your script. not just a random hotkey. but actual programs.
or by the clock? there will always (unless you do something) be an icon there.
or somewhere else?
