Odd behavior when using IE

My AHK script runs great sometimes and other times, I noticed that it likes to open up an IE tab with the similar webpage and makes this the active tab...which screws up my macro. Im only ever using the run command (once) and then either winactivate or winwaitactive. Thoughts? How can i check to ensure only 1 tab (the correct one) is opened? They have similar names.
