Wild cards in filepatterns

Would a wildcard work as the drive letter part of a filepattern if the rest is specified ie.

*:\documents\*.jpg

I'm thinking of removeable drives getting assigned different letters when other things are plugged in.

What about to use an UNCpath instead

- AFAIK and based on tests I just did, wildcards can only be used on the last part in a File loop.
- I couldn't find an explicit mention of this here:
