How to detect whether an app is dead
Here dead means the app is running but not responding mouse clicks or any keyboard input.
Re: How to detect whether an app is dead
Process, Exist, ...
Re: How to detect whether an app is dead Topic is solved
DllCall("IsHungAppWindow", "ptr", WinExist("..."))
Re: How to detect whether an app is dead
Is that also adoptable to detect a hung AHK script - that "once you mouseover its tray-icon it'll collapse" kinda thing (that has no window at all)??Gast wrote:DllCall("IsHungAppWindow", "ptr", WinExist("..."))
Re: How to detect whether an app is dead
For that, I think your Process, Exist idea would be better suited - it's my understanding that that happens when the process displaying the tray icon has been killed and didn't get a chance to remove its icon from the tray. If you're not averse to the idea of running another script, you might consider creating one that simply starts the crash prone AutoHotkey script in a RunWait loop, as a watchdog of sorts

Yep, that's what we've used in ancient times with an additional file create/remove handshake. Thx for your support
