a quick question

Hello ,
I would like to know something , when I want to make a script for auto pressing buttons , for example when I press XButton2 on my mouse and I want the script to auto press the button 3 just bellow F3 , how do I do that?
Also what do I type if I want the script to auto press the [.] button (period).
