Windows 10 speech recognition hotkey ARGH!

15 May 2018, 16:54

Windows 10 has a passable speech recognition/dictation system built-in. It's not nearly as good as Dragon but it's native and Dragon is a hog. My issue is the Ctrl-Win hotkey. More often than I care to admit I type between the keys  and turn on the mic by accident. This would be NBD but there is a bug in either speech recog or Access 2016 which locks up Access with a black screen if the mic is triggered. I know, a bug in MS software. Who would have thought it. So, I'm looking for a way to reassign the hotkey combination. The mic toggles when both Win and Ctrl are depressed and one or the other is released—it doesn't matter which key is released first. It triggers on the first key to be released. If it can't be reassigned then perhaps it can be blocked when an Access window is active. Any thoughts?
