I'm not a PC user, our IT dept says maybe MS made more difficult for things to work. all my scripts used to work, now I cant run them. I can edit them. Man do I hate PCs.

What Edition, Version, OS Build, System Type (bit-level)? All of this is in Settings>System>About.
> My script on my desktop that will not compile when I double click.
A double-click on an AHK source code file does not compile it — that runs it. To compile it, right-click on it and select Compile Script.
Here's my AHK and Windows info:
AHK: 1.1.29.00 U32
Edition: W10 Pro
Version: 1709
OS Build: 16299.431
System Type: 64-bit
AHK runs fine.
> our IT dept says maybe MS made more difficult for things to work
Maybe, but I'm not having any problems here.

By that, I presume you mean Windows. What do you like? OS X? Linux?
