File Explorer

20 Jan 2014, 05:52

This was made as an addon for Winscript, an autohotkey script launcher that I made. Basically I've noticed that I only really use a couple of my folders at any one time. I know that windows has a favorites thing in explorer but i just don't like it...So I made this! I made a short demo of what it does which you can watch here http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FNv7lWdrkbs

If your using winscript (http://jpgautomation.com/winscriptsource/) just hit capslock + shift, use the new shortcut and paste the code (which can be found here https://bitbucket.org/JPGInc/fileexplor ... plorer.ahk) into the new file. Hit caplock + shift again and use the add shortcut to include it into the main winscript file (When asked if you want to add it to the default shortcut list click no)

Once you have done that then pressing the 'windows key + e' will bring up a list of drives and a list of recently accessed files/folders. You navigate your directories using the keyboard and when you reach the directory you were looking for press escape or click the mouse button to dismiss the on screen display. You can also save individual files in the recently accessed list by, first navigating to the folder, then press "capslock + f" to switch to file mode and select the file to run. The other shortcuts are

\
Go up a directory (ie go from c:\windows to c:)

alt + c (when in file explorer mode)
Close all open explorer windows.

delete
Delete one of the saved recently accessed files/folders

shift + delete
Delete all of the recently accessed files/folders

capslock + f
Toggle between displaying a list of files and a list of folders

Return to “Scripts and Functions (v1)”
