Here's my little script for randomizing the order of MP3 files in a given folder. It may come in handy if you have an MP3 player that doesn't have a shuffle feature.
The way this script works is that it looks for digits at the beginning of each file name. If such digits are found, they get replaced with new ones. It's slightly more complicated than that, but I think that you get the picture.
If a particular file name only consists of digits these do not get replaced, instead a string with new digits gets added at the beginning of the file name. This is because there are song names that only contain digits. Granted, there are not all that many of them, but they do exist.
