I have constructed a keyboard layout to reduce the wrist movement.
The way it works is when the "space" key is pressed the keys are remapped in such a way that you are not required anymore to move your wrist to press keys witch you normally would move your wrist to press (example backspace).
After releasing the space key the keys are remapped to their standard place.
You can customize the layout when "space" is pressed or even if another key would remap the keyboard through the variable "contextKey". These variables are available for editing in the first part of the script.

Keyboard layout for carpal tunnel syndrome that activates/deactivates automatically
Re: Keyboard layout for carpal tunnel syndrome that activates/deactivates automatically
well done.
for a more generalized abstraction, you can look at Dual:
https://github.com/lydell/dual
it allows you to quickly configure a modifier key (like you've used Spacebar here). it hasn't been updated in a while but it used to work good
