'The cleaners' / clean the internet

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7689936/
A look at the shadowy underworld of the Internet where questionable content is removed.
When you post something on the web, can you be sure it stays there?
Enter a hidden shadow industry of digital cleaning where the Internet rids itself of what it doesn't like - violence, pornography and - political content.
Who is controlling what we see and what we think?

EU copyright music, video ....

The EU’s Copyright Directive has a laundry list of problems, from “link taxes”
https://juliareda.eu/2017/10/publishers ... -link-tax/
that saddle smaller media outlets with fees for quoting other websites,
to the EU-wide implementation of unreliable automatic copyright filters like Google’s Content ID .....

“I quickly received Content ID notifications for copyright-free music by Bartok, Schubert, Puccini, and Wagner,” Kaiser said.
“Again and again, YouTube told me that I was violating the copyright of these long-dead composers, despite all of my uploads existing in the public domain.”

Google’s Content ID is the result of more than $100 million in investment funds and countless development hours.
Yet Kaiser found the system was largely incapable of differentiating between copyrighted music and content in the public domain.
And the appeals process that Google has erected to tackle these false claims wasn’t any better.....

I was looking at a restaurant menu. It said 'Decaf coffee', but I read 'Deref coffee'.

Today’s decision is a severe blow to the free and open internet.
By endorsing new legal and technical limits on what we can post and share online, the European Parliament is putting corporate profits over freedom of speech
and abandoning long-standing principles that made the internet what it is today.
The Parliament’s version of Article 13 (366 for, 297 against) seeks to make all but the smallest internet platforms liable for any copyright infringements committed by their users.
This law leaves sites and apps no choice but to install error-prone upload filters.
Anything we want to publish will need to first be approved by these filters, and perfectly legal content like parodies and memes will be caught in the crosshairs.
