The region restrictions are so easy to forget, sorry!
There never was any mass impetus to facilitate region checking for embedded videos in websites, did enquire at
WordPress, as yet, little interest.
Do try to post releases of older content through the larger organizations such as Universal, Various Artists, Believe SAS, and The Orchard Enterprises - weird that The state51 Conspiracy was
removed from Wikipedia some time back. These generally abide by the copyright laws of the countries, e.g. for the US, 75 years protection for the old US record companies like Capitol, Arista, Verve, RCA, Atlantic, Epic and Columbia.
The watannetwork site will show the resticted countries (minus some like Antarctica
, Hawaii and other Pacific islands) on a map, they also suggest using a web proxy for a country other than the one in question. In the spoiler are the restrictions for the above vids:
Implementing the
request url from the API should be possible on most platforms though. For this thread a stickie with a box and button, paste in the url, click the button and a message box with the output could work.
