Conclusion:

The jitbit recorder was fine. But I found it much more convenient to just use the Window Spy while executing the keystrokes and copying & pasting ; and just writing it directly in AutoHotkey. Much more efficient.

you've added MIT license but you are required by the GPL to keep your derivative work also as GPL. you should also keep Pulover's original license and copyright in the main dir

going straight from .pmc to ahkv2 is actually easier than converting v1 code, and probably less error prone

A modified version of Pulover's Macro Creator for AHKv2

Are there any differences in performance using this versus the original PMC?

I just started using it and it's really nice. One issue is with the OCR. In the "important > Bin" folder it's missing the tesseract.exe and leptonica_util.exe. So if you attempt and OCR you get an error. I just copied my current Bin folder contents over and now it's working.

I'm getting bugs in the Preview Script window. It keeps adding lots of "''""''""" type stings (but thousands of characters long) and won't update to new code. The export AHK button does seem to work though.

Is anybody else having this issue?

I'm just hiding the preview pane for now and exporting ahk manually (if i need it)
